HELEN ROSE

Helen Rose was born in Toronto in 1962 and was admitted to the care of the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Toronto when she was 11 days old. By age two, she had been moved eight times between her birth mother and various foster homes. In 1965, she was admitted as a ward of the crown to the care of the Muskoka Children's Aid Society. At four years old, she was adopted into an alcoholic and abusive home and endured the horrors of that home until she left to make a new life for herself.

In 1983, she moved to the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. Today, she continues to live in the Bow Valley region with her husband, her son, three cats and two dogs.

53 Grove Road is an account of her turbulent and chaotic youth and her struggle to attain peace.

It is her hope that in reading this story, it will help others to understand the need to accept the past and move forward.
